We are in search of passionate Catholic teachers with leadership qualifications and/or experience who are eager to embrace the unique journey of learning, living, and contributing to the vibrant Catholic school communities nestled within the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia. Welcome to Kimberley Calling – a groundbreaking initiative by CEWA that beckons you to empower and be inspired by students throughout Broome, teaching at your choice of 13 unique school destinations. CEWA invites leadership staff from Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary school backgrounds to apply. Successful applicants require a university degree (or equivalent) in Education, registration with the TRBWA and availability to work either: long term employment of 12 months + / or contracts 5 to 10 weeks per school term (relief opportunities - short notice) - apply and chat to us about your availability and career goals


After submitting your application, you will be contacted by our friendly Talent team and provided full details of this transformative professional and personal growth opportunity, with a view to joining the Kimberley Calling LEADERSHIP pool for 2025 and 2026. From this pool, CEWA will appoint outstanding individuals to carefully matched schools and communities in this unique desert region.

Benefits & Remuneration

As part of our commitment to supporting teachers in regional and remote communities, we offer an extensive benefits package, including:

  • Competitive salary (see CEWA Salary Schedules – June 2025)
  • Fully funded relocation from any major Australian city – includes flights, household goods and vehicle transport

  • Location allowance paid fortnightly
  • Annual regional bonus of $5,000–$20,000, pro rata for short-term placements

Requirements

Before you apply for this job, you need:

  • Catholic faith: positions at Leadership level within CEWA require candidates to be of Catholic faith 
  • University degree in Education or equivalent: either Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary
  • Teachers Registration confirmation from Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia - please conduct this process online via: TRBWA - note: candidates with teacher registration in a different Australian State (other than WA) may apply stating their NT, QLD, SA, NSW, VIC or TAS registration details, should you be successful in securing a position CEWA will guide you on how to register for mutual recognition with the TRBWA.
  • Highly desirable: possession of qualifications: Accreditation to Teach Religious Education / or Accreditation to Lead Religious Education in Catholic Schools will be highly regarded, however Catholic candidates willing to obtain these qualifciations on the job (course costs are covered by CEWA) are highly encouraged to apply
