About the role
Are you an experienced and dedicated grounds person looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role in the cemetery industry? Geraldton Cemetery is seeking a part-time grounds person to provide horticultural and maintenance care for the Cemetery grounds, facilities and equipment.
What you'll be doing
- Assist with performing and/or overseeing routine Cremations.
- Assist with preparation of gravesite for Burials.
- Perform hands-on cemetery work such as backfilling gravesites, lawn mowing, and general grounds maintenance.
What we're looking for
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member.
- Demonstrated experience in working in the horticulture industry in public spaces.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a range of horticultural machinery and use manual skills in relation to public gardens.
- Proven ability to read and understand written instructions and apply safety principles, particularly in relation to the use of machinery.
- Excavator Licence - obtained or willing to obtain ticket.
- Front End Loader Ticket - obtained or willing to obtain ticket.
