Officer Facilities Management and Maintenance - Fixed Term - Up to 12 months
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $86,250, plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview
To coordinate, supervise and deliver a range of facilities management planned and reactive (unplanned) maintenance activities to contribute to the team's objective of delivering safe, compliant and fit for purpose facilities that meet community needs and Council requirements.
Facilities under the team's responsibility include, but are not limited to, Council's corporate administration buildings, community halls, showgrounds, public amenities and public pools and their associated supporting infrastructure.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working collaboratively in a team environment to facilitate the safe delivery of facility management and maintenance activities.
- Sound understanding of asset and related financial management and the ability to work within asset management programs.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings, service/management contracts legislation and codes relevant to building industry maintenance standards.
- Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders both individually and in groups.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills in both individual and group work.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in reactive or emergency facilities maintenance situations (e.g. vandalism, broken water pipes, security breaches).
- WH&S QLD – Construction Industry 'White Card', and
- Queensland Class driver's licence or above that is current and maintained.
Essential Requirements:
- Plan, coordinate and supervise facility and building maintenance requests for the Asset Facilities team under the responsibility of the directorate ensuring rectification works are timely and compliant.
- Utilise the information to plan and coordinate necessary rectification work, or improvements including scheduling works for future budget bids.
- Provide facilities management and maintenance advice and collaborative support across the facilities maintenance team and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely response and outcomes.
- Maintain asset management systems for relevant buildings and contribute to an ongoing review of business systems, policies and processes as part of a continuous improvement process to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Determine the requirements for the use of external Consultants and/or Contractors to assist with the delivery of works.
- At the direction of the Coordinator Building and Facilities, plan and coordinate the implementation of approved minor operational or capital works projects.
- Develop quotation documentation, engage with Procurement, assess responses and implement contracts for the supply of goods and/or services in relation to facilities management and maintenance, contributing to the development, review and implementation of major service contracts under the supervision of the Coordinator Building and Facilities.
- Undertake financial and administration tasks relating to facilities management function and maintenance exercising sound judgement, initiative and confidentiality.
