A new challenge in a unique location:

We have an exciting opening for a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance team to live and work on Christmas Island.

You will be carrying out following tasks:

  • Undertaking scheduled, planned and corrective maintenance to fixed plant and machinery with the focus on preventing downtime;
  • Diagnosing faults, inspect and test machinery and plant;
  • Carrying out repair action required to manufacturer's specifications and relevant Australian standards;
  • Attending to call-outs when required and ensure all works meet CIP and statutory requirements;
  • Ensuring to achieve the highest standard of OHS&E compliance; and
  • Mentoring and coaching apprentices.

To be Successful in this role:

  • Holding an Australian recognized Trade Certificate III in Engineering- Mechanical Trade or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified trades person in maintenance work on fixed plant within a minerals processing operation;
  • Valid WA 'C' Class Drivers' License or equivalent;
  • Holding a current Senior First Aid Certificate; and
  • Experience in using maintenance systems (PRONTO)- an advantage
