The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Practitioner (Diabetes) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Supervise and support the diabetes team in holistic assessment, case management, and clinical care
  • Provide advanced clinical management to optimise glycaemic control
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, cost-effective care within the full scope
  • Teach, mentor, and assess junior staff and Nurse Practitioner candidates

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

The Diabetes and Endocrinology Service delivers comprehensive diabetes management from childhood through to the elderly population.

The service operates through a collaborative interdisciplinary model of care, working closely with a range of healthcare professionals to support patients effectively.

The overarching goal is to streamline the patient journey across inpatient, outpatient and community based diabetes management and empower self-management of diabetes.
