accessory fitter

POSITION PURPOSE:

Accessory Fitters are responsible for the professional installation of vehicle accessories and related equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This role is hands-on and technical, mechanical aptitude and pride in workmanship is imperative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accessory Installation

- Fit a wide range of vehicle accessories to individual customer vehicle needs

- Conduct electrical wiring and integration for relevant accessories with care for vehicle systems

- Follow manufacturer installation instructions and workshop procedures

- Check compatibility and placement of components before installation

- Complete jobs in a timely manner and to a professional finish, minimising rework and supporting customer satisfaction

- Test installed accessories to ensure correct functionality and safety

- maintain accuracy and care when working on customer vehicles

Workshop Efficiency & Safety

- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace

- Operate tools and equipment in line with safety regulations and store policy

- Use safe lifting and jacking practices when working under vehicles

- Proactively identify and report potential hazards or issues

- Contribute to a positive workshop culture and assist other team members where needed

- Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and workflow

Job Communication

- Liaise with sales staff and/or customers when required to clarify fitting requirements or product capabilities

- Support sales staff with technical advice and job planning

- Take care when working on customer vehicles and uphold a high level of respect and professionalism

Job Management & Documentation

- Complete job cards and fitting records accurately, noting all workshop consumables used

- Take before/after photos where required

- Report issues with stock, vehicle condition or incorrect parts to the manager

- Follow quality control processes to maintain a high reputation for workmanship

Teamwork and Professionalism

- Work closely with store manager and other team members to meet store goals

- Help out within any area of the business as required including backup sales representative

- Attend staff meetings and contribute ideas and efficiencies

- Contribute to a supportive and positive team culture

- Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and colleagues

- Maintain punctuality, reliability and professionalism

- Take pride in delivering high-quality work that reflects the stores reputation
