Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold the necessary educational qualifications to be recognized as a Responsible Person under Victoria Health (Pharmacy Regulation Victoria) requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant pharmacy and medicinal product handling standards.

This role involves preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications to patients accurately and efficiently.
• Receive and process prescription orders, verifying accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stock control, and monitoring expiry dates.
• Operate pharmacy software systems to input and retrieve prescription information.
• Ensure full compliance with the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2017 (VIC) and Pharmacy Regulation Victoria guidelines.
• Uphold all duties required of a Responsible Person, ensuring medicines are stored, supplied, and managed safely and in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Provide professional, empathetic, and informed customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant pharmacy environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Requirement (must meet one of the following):

• Certificate III or IV in Community Pharmacy, or

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent tertiary qualification), or
• Equivalent qualifications or experience recognised by Pharmacy Regulation Victoria as sufficient for registration or recognition as a Responsible Person.
• Proven experience in a pharmacy or dispensary environment (minimum 1 year preferred).
• Experience in stock control and inventory management.
• Comprehensive understanding of pharmacy operations and relevant VIC legislation.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management software, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting.
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
