About the role

Through completion of relevant education preparation and experiential learning, the Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC) will develop an expanded scope of practice that will result in endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). The NPC Renal Replacement Therapy will function in accordance with relevant legislation and national standards and will work collaboratively with the interprofessional team to ensure the provision of comprehensive, individualised quality patient care to patients within the MNKHS.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills and follow evidence-based care to manage, diagnose and treat patients in MNKHS.
  • Use specialised planning and assessment skills to develop a comprehensive management plan for implementing and evaluating interventions related to Renal Replacement Therapy.
