Work Location: Perth – Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join our busy Payroll team. This role is a permanent role, working closely with the Payroll Superintendent and is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Australian payroll legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a high-volume, multi-site workforce.

Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, including payroll tax, superannuation and regulatory reporting across multiple states.

Prepare and reconcile payroll-related accounting entries, including GL journals, leave provisions and payroll tax reconciliations.

Process monthly and ad hoc pay runs, including exceptional payments, back pay, terminations and redundancies.

Resolve payroll queries, investigate discrepancies and provide accurate guidance to employees and stakeholders.

Support payroll compliance, audits and internal policy requirements, acting as a subject matter expert.

Produce payroll reports for management and external stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes, systems and compliance practices.

Qualifications and Experience
  • 5+years of Payroll Experience
  • Extensive experience in complex payroll operations within large organisations.
  • Proficiency with SAP payroll module and SuccessFactors.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, the Fair Work Act, superannuation, employee leave entitlement and tax obligations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
