About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Maintenance Superintendent to lead our surface heavy vehicle mobile equipment maintenance team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance strategies aligned with specific sites and business objectives.
This is a pivotal leadership role where your expertise in mobile maintenance and ability to drive team performance will directly impact production reliability and asset lifecycle performance.
Work in our brand-new state-of-the-art Traveston facility represents a significant investment in our operations and will play a crucial ongoing role in enhancing our capabilities, efficiency and service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse fleet and work force of tradesman.
Lead and manage the surface mobile maintenance team, ensuring a strong safety culture and compliance with all OHS and environmental standards.
- Oversee maintenance of mobile equipment and associated fixed infrastructure to meet safety, availability, and cost targets.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, schedules, and inspection programs based on OEM guidelines, NHVR standards, site standards, and legislative requirements.
- Deliver accurate operational and capital budgets and manage asset lifecycle planning.
- Drive continuous improvement through reliability-based maintenance and process optimisation.
- Support workforce planning, performance management, apprenticeships, and training programs to build a skilled and motivated team.
What we are looking for:
- Prior site-based maintenance superintendent/supervisor experience is essential.
- Proven experience managing diverse fleets.
- A solid understanding and practical application of leadership and management including mining regulations, statutory compliance, NHVR and maintenance best practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
- Strong ability to interact with others and provide guidance, support and direction to the team.
- Capable of identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance productivity, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in functional areas.
Understanding of best practices in Maintenance Management and associated workflows.
Demonstrable leadership, communication and people management skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Proficient in Microsoft programs and general data entry.
- Must have an Australian Recognised Heavy or Mobile Plant Trade Certificate.
- Valid C Class Manual Driver's License.
