The Resources Regulator (part of NSW Resources) is seeking a dynamic Principal Compliance Manager to oversee the Audit & Enforcement, Investigations, and Compliance Assessments teams within the Mining Act Inspectorate.
About the Role
As Principal Compliance Manager, you are a Senior Leader responsible for managing three teams who conduct risk-based compliance and investigation activities related to exploration, mine rehabilitation and security deposits.
You'll also be responsible for:
- Establishing and promoting a service focused culture based on continuous improvement, shared values and teamwork.
- Overseeing the planning and delivery of audits, investigations, and compliance operations.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate voluntary compliance and drive positive outcomes.
- Providing expert advice, submissions, reports and recommendations on regulatory matters to the Executive, supporting informed decision-making at the highest levels.
- Mentoring and developing a high-performing team, to align workforce capability with the organisation's current and future priorities and objectives.
What We're Looking For
To be successful you'll need to have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and leadership experience in a regulatory environment (or equivalent).
- A current Class C NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout NSW as required.
You'll also bring:
- Sound experience with regulatory compliance and enforcement models, auditing, and investigation processes.
- A strong outcomes focus, with the ability to balance risk and deliver results in a complex, high-volume environment.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
