The Opportunity:

Kent are looking for experienced Wells & Gathering Mechanical Technicians to join our high performing team on Shell's QGC business in the Surat Basin This is an ideal role for residents of the local area or who reside in Brisbane. The work roster is 15 days on 13 days off, 10 hours per day. The role will be accountable for executing preventative and maintenance tasks on wells & gathering.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on wells and gathering, safely and effectively, and provide technical assistance, as required, to the Operations Team.
  • Planning of all urgent corrective work as required.
  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair equipment to satisfy appropriate Governing Standards.
  • Work within OEM guidelines
  • Demonstrate high level of fault finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously.
  • Provide expertise that will be relied upon to give advice when making decisions on lifecycle management.
  • Monitor and execute maintenance activities to ensure the highest standards in reliability and availability are achieved.
  • Maintain and manage maintenance registers and databases for site specific equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance to manufacturers guidelines, maintenance agreements and warrantees.
  • Participate in equipment performance checks.
  • Maintain maintenance records through effective documentation in conjunction with the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers for their support where applicable
  • Define, amend or advise procedures and schedules if required, for maintenance activities
  • Assist with the coordination of day-to-day activities of the Wells & Gathering Maintenance Team
  • Mentor others to ensure skill development within the team.


About You:

You bring a strong mechanical trade background, supported by practical field experience and relevant certifications, including a White Card and HR Driver's License. You're confident using a range of digital tools, with solid skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CMMS systems—experience with Maximo would be a bonus.

You're comfortable working to company and industry standards, with a good understanding of functional assurance processes. Known for your ability to work collaboratively, you're not afraid to ask the right questions or offer suggestions that help improve safety, efficiency, and team outcomes. Whether working with internal teams, partners, or contractors, you communicate well and aim to build positive, solution-focused working relationships.
