About the business:
They're a growth-stage SaaS company providing market-leading, data-driven software solutions to the aged care, retirement living, home care, and disability sectors across Australia and New Zealand. Backed by private equity, they're on an exciting expansion path with multiple recent acquisitions both domestically and globally.
About the role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be all hands on across the full accounting cycle - from daily transactions through to month-end close, reporting, and supporting acquisition integration. This is not a role for someone who wants to stay in their lane, or own one process; you'll be involved in everything from financial operations and analysis to board and PE reporting.
You'll have exposure to the entire business and play a key role in helping harmonise systems and processes across newly acquired entities.
What you'll do day to day:
- Support day to day accounting: AR, AP, journals, reconciliations and payroll
- Assist with monthly and annual financial closings, management, and board reporting
- Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, and tax-related filings
- Monitor and report on cash flow
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist with acquisition integration - systems, reporting, and data
- Contribute to PE/board reporting and annual audit preparation
- Flex for occasional after-hours calls with interstate or overseas stakeholders
What you'll bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or 5+ years of equivalent experience
- CPA/CA qualified or currently studying
- Broad accounting experience across both financial and management accounting
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth businesses highly regarded
- Proficiency with MYOB, Xero, or similar; strong Excel capability
- Understanding of payroll and HR compliance fundamentals
- Previous experience in smaller, hands-on finance teams
- Willing and able to travel to their Heatherton office 2-3 days per week to work collaboratively in the team
