Principal Tech Lead – Zii Wholesale

Location: Melbourne / Sydney (Hybrid)

Zii is a fast-growing Australian technology company providing innovative POS and cloud-based digital transformation solutions across Food & Beverage, Retail, and Services industries. Our mission is to empower businesses through automation, data-driven insights, and connected technology ecosystems that simplify operations and drive profitability.

As we expand Wholesale Business Unit, we're looking for a Principal Tech Lead to take ownership of technical leadership, solution architecture, and pre-sales engagement for our wholesale clients across Australia, Europe, and Asia.

As the Principal Tech Lead of Zii's Wholesale Business Unit, you'll play a central role in bridging our product innovation with client needs. You will lead technical discovery and solution design sessions, drive pre-sales meetings, and guide product customization and integration aligned with Zii's ecosystem — including Zii Payment, Zii POS, and connected partner platforms. You will work closely with business development, sales, and product teams to define scalable wholesale system architectures, ensuring Zii's ecosystem continues to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet market and partner demands.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Leadership

  • Lead pre-sales meetings with clients to identify technical and business requirements.
  • Translate client needs into technical solutions that align with Zii's POS and payment ecosystem.
  • Support account managers and business development teams with solution presentations, demos, and proposals.

Solution Architecture & Technical Direction

  • Architect and validate end-to-end wholesale system solutions including integration, data flow, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams to drive feature development and enhancement based on client feedback.
  • Ensure technical alignment with Zii's ecosystem and partner platforms.

Product Involvement & Innovation

  • Deeply engage with Zii's product line, contributing to roadmap discussions and technical improvements.
  • Design proof-of-concept (POC) environments and lead pilots for enterprise and SMB customers.
  • Participate in product scaling and ecosystem integration for wholesale automation, ERP, and inventory systems.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Zii's R&D, Product, and Implementation teams to ensure delivery quality.
  • Provide ongoing technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and pre-sales consultants.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technology partners, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of POS, cloud infrastructure, and API integrations (ERP, E-commerce, Platform, Payment systems).
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS platforms, software deployment, and customer onboarding.
  • Proven ability to lead pre-sales engagements — from requirement gathering to proposal delivery.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills — able to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in managing POCs, demos, and contributing to tenders or RFP responses.
  • Exposure to the wholesale, retail, or supply chain tech industries preferred.
