The CompanyOur client, is an Australian, family-owned business with an expanding branch network across NSW, ACT, Queensland and South Australia. With over 20 stores they aspire to be the nations leading independent booksellers who supply and promote products and services that meet ethical, sustainable and environmental trade practices.  About the Role

Based in Sydney, this newly created role, is an incredible opportunity for a forward thinking and proactive Area Manager or highly experienced Store Manager ready for the next step. You will work closely with Store Managers and the senior management team to deliver expert, proactive, and customer-focused support across all business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular store visits to all stores in the Sydney NSW region, setting store standards and objectives in line with business requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop your operational teams to deliver against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to build capable and confident store teams.
  • Actively participate in the Annual Performance Review process and oversee reviews across all stores.
  • Continually review and improve current processes, always looking for ways to enhance service delivery and drive efficiency in a customer first culture.
  • Champion high standards in stock management, ensuring accuracy, availability, and minimal loss.
  • Ensure the adherence to WH&S across all sites in NSW.

Key Requirements:

  • 5-10 years' experience as a Store Manager ready for the next step or previous experience as a multi-site manager.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a passion for developing others.
  • Track record of driving operational improvements across retail sites while maintaining consistency and a customer-first mindset.
  • Proven experience in managing the stock lifecycle.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A determined and goal-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of accountability.
