Maritime Constructions is a marine contractor, uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects from design and construction through to commissioning.  Projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, and underwater pipelines, in Australia and internationally.

We are looking for an experienced Crane Operator to join an exciting project in the Indian Ocean Territories on a 4:2 roster (4 working weeks followed by two weeks R&R, 2 paid RDO's available during working swing). Flights are from Perth.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:-

  • Make safety the first priority.
  • Promote and maintain Maritime Constructions brand and values to all internal and external customers.
  • Operate various types of cranes to lift, move and position materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and regular maintenance on cranes to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Coordinate and follow lift plans and ensure all lifting activities comply with site safety standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with crane operators, riggers and other construction crew to ensure coordinated and safe lifting operations.
  • Ensure that all Company auxiliary crane equipment (i.e. rigging equipment etc) is well maintained and serviceable.
  • Prepare and service Company plant and equipment by cleaning, lubricating and re-fuelling it and make minor adjustments and repairs when necessary.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on multiple roles and assist with various tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience and Competencies:

  • Sound technical knowledge of Crane operation and maintenance.
  • Open Crane Ticket.
  • 110t Crawler crane experience.
  • Construction White Card.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability as a solutions-based worker.
  • Display integrity, respect and enthusiasm.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

Preference will be given to candidates residing and flying to site ex Perth however interstate candidates will also be considered based on level of experience/expertise.

Desirable:-

  • Advanced Rigging (RA), HC Licence, Working at Heights, Forklift Ticket (LF), Coxswains.
  • Experience with steel erection, concreting/grouting and/or piling.
  • Prior experience working in a remote location.
