Struddys requires an experienced Machinist for immediate start. At Struddys, we pride ourselves on the superior quality of our garments and are looking for someone who can uphold our quality standards & deadlines.
We are specifically looking for an experienced Flatlock, Coverstitch, Plain Sew and Overlock to join the Struddys Squad.
Sewing machinists are responsible for operating Struddys industrial sewing machines to complete in-house garment orders. They must consistently meet deadlines set by their Team leader and always adhere to Struddys quality control standards.
Reports to: The Sewing Machinist will report to the Sewing Manager.
Job Summary
The sewing machinist role is to ensure that all garments produced are well-made and non-defective by confirming that all manufacturing procedures are observed. This needs to be executed to the highest standards of quality and meet timelines requirements as set by the Sewing Manager.
Responsibilities and duties
- Work in a sewing line to produce complete garments.
- Adhere to mandatory quality control standards.
- Adhere to all sewing targets and deadlines provided by the Sewing Manager.
- Complete all assigned stages of production.
- Always follow sewing guidelines and procedures.
- Report any machinery issues or breakdowns to the Sewing Manager.
- Report any Workplace Health and Safety hazards to the Sewing Manager.
- Maintain an organized and tidy work area.
- Ensure needle protocols are followed.
- May be required to work flexible hours during peak periods.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have industrial sewing machine experience.
Must understand fabrics and garment constructions.
Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work within a team.
