Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Westpac Group Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager – Incident Response and Operations

What's the role?

As the Senior Manager Incident Response and Operations, you'll lead a high-performing team responsible for managing critical incidents and ensuring the safety and security of Westpac's people, customers, and assets. You'll oversee real-time incident coordination, alarm monitoring, and property related Priority 1 responses, all while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney, offering a hybrid work model (three days in office, two from home) with flexible start and finish times, Monday to Friday. Given you'll be leading a team that provides 24/7/365 incident response and call support, you'll need to be flexible with your working hours. Work hours may occasionally vary, including some later shifts (e.g. 1:00pm–9:00pm on certain days each month) and weekend availability to handle escalations when needed.

What do I need?

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a strong blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise. You'll be confident making decisions under pressure and skilled at building trusted relationships across the business.

Here's what will help you thrive:

  • Demonstrated experience in incident response, security operations, or facilities management within high-risk environments, or a strong operational background with proven leadership in complex settings.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on team development and performance
  • Strong capability in strategic planning, risk anticipation, and resilience
  • Demonstrated success managing critical incidents and navigating complex regulatory landscapes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to navigate and balance strategic priorities with fast-paced operational demands in a high-pressure, 24/7 environment.

If you are passionate about the strategic direction and governance of incident response, proactively shaping capabilities and building a high-performing, resilient team, then we would love to hear from you
