About St George's Health Service

Located in Kew, St George's Health Service provides a comprehensive range of aged care services, including inpatient care, evaluation and management, residential aged care, rehabilitation, acute psychiatry, and community-based assessment and treatment. Our Support Services team delivers all Environmental & Food Services for the hospital.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Food Services Assistant (FSA) to join our dedicated Support Services team on a casual basis, working across AM and PM shifts.

Reporting to the Support Services Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food services to our patients, ensuring all meals and beverages meet food safety standards, dietary requirements, and our commitment to excellence in care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare short-order food and beverages, including modified fluids, sandwiches, and salads (weekends).

  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in all work areas.

  • Assist with cleaning and dishwashing of patient meal trays.

  • Monitor and minimise food waste.

  • Advise the Coordinator on stock levels and replenishment needs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Food Safety Certificate HLTFSE001.

  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen.

Desirable:

  • Experience in an aged care or healthcare setting.
