In this role you will provide a quality electrical trade service, thereby enhancing the quality of customer service provided by the Facilities Management unit by delivering comprehensive preventative, corrective and minor electrical works across the Coronial and Public Health Sciences (CPHS) Campus.
What you'll do
- Be responsible for ensuring that safe work practices are always adopted and that protective clothing and equipment provided is worn and used as recommended.
- Carry out electrical work in relation to corrective maintenance, installation projects and minor works as directed by the Trade Coordinator/Campus Maintenance Coordinator.
- Participate and assist in all trade maintenance ADHOC works.
- Ability to interpret building plans, associated drawings and specifications and adapt industry approved practices to all tasks undertaken.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Possession of trade qualifications recognised in Queensland with completion of an Apprenticeship in Electrical Fitting/Mechanics being the minimum requirement.
- Possession of current Queensland Electrical Fitting/Mechanical License and Certificate of Competency issued by Electrical Safety Office Safety Regulation 2002.
- Possession of a Queensland Electrical Contractors Licence, or the qualifications required to be nominated as a Qualified Technical Person (QTP).
- An Austel Licence / ACMA Registration (Australian Communications and Media Authority) or experience in communication cabling would be well regarded.
- A good working knowledge of Equipment Automation to include PLC and VSDs.
- Must have CPR.
- Must have current switch board rescue.
- High work ethics with a flexible and willing approach and maintains a high level of pride in their work and presentation.
- High level trade skills and a willingness to actively pursue ongoing learning and develop knowledge of current industry practices.
- Client Focus to effectively communicate with clients to understand their needs and consistently deliver a flexible service which meets these needs.
