About the role

Lighthouse Christian College - Keysborough is seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants to join their dedicated team on a contract basis. In this vital role, you will provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

What you will be doing

  • Work alongside teachers to implement individualized learning plans for students with additional needs
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, adapting teaching methods and materials as required
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom setup
  • Participate in regular team meetings and professional development to continuously improve your practice
  • Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all students
  • The role may involve bending, kneeling, lifting and other moderately strenuous physical activity.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant qualifications in education, special needs or a related field
  • Experience working with students who have learning difficulties, disabilities or other additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents
  • Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting student growth and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
