The Role – Lead with Your Participant

This is your chance to bring ideas, heart, and fun into every day.

You'll co-design each day with your participant, create activities they're excited about, and help them get the absolute most out of their services . From one-on-one support to our buzzing Day Programs.

You'll keep parents/guardians and allied health in the loop with clear, purposeful handovers that keep everyone moving towards the next goal.

Mentored by Senior Support Workers – Every Step

You're never alone in your role. Senior Support Workers will:

• Welcome you with a hands-on onboarding experience
• Guide you through session planning and creative problem-solving
• Review your notes, celebrate your wins, and help you refine your approach
• Give regular, practical feedback that grows your confidence and skills

Guided by Allied Health – Real-World Know-How

Our Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, and Speech Pathologists offer more than therapy plans, they give you practical, real-world guidance you can use straight away.

You'll learn how to:

• Apply communication supports from speech therapy
• Put OT strategies into action for routines, independence, and life skills
• Support safe, enjoyable movement programs from physio and EP
• Share your observations so we can adapt and improve together

You'll also get to attend allied-health–run workshops so you can keep building your skills and your toolkit.

What You'll Do
Daily Living with Dignity

• Support with personal care (showering, grooming, continence, dressing)
• Encourage independence through skill-building meal prep and mealtime support
• Turn light domestic tasks (laundry, tidying) into practical learning moments

Community, Skills & Fun

• Plan and lead activities your participant truly loves — coffee outings, gym sessions, art projects, market trips, sports, cooking, library visits, transport training
• Build life skills like money handling, using timetables, creating shopping lists, and developing social confidence
• Join in Day Programs that bring people together for life skills, fitness, and creative workshops. all with a sense of purpose and fun

Therapy Guidance in Action

• Put allied-health advice into practice: communication aids, structured routines, exercise programs, and environmental setup
• Share what worked, what needs adjusting, and what's next with your Senior Support Worker and allied health team

Documentation & Handover Comms

• Write clear, upbeat progress notes that show how micro and macro goals are being achieved
• Provide targeted handovers to parents/guardians and allied health so everyone's on the same page

Safety & Professionalism

• Follow therapy plans; use calm, effective de-escalation strategies
• Support medication routines (if applicable)
• Always uphold NDIS Practice Standards, boundaries, privacy, and infection control
• Be consistent and reliable with rosters

What Success Looks Like

Micro wins:

• Trying a new recipe and nailing it
• Greeting the barista with confidence
• A smoother, more independent morning routine
• Tackling an extra bus stop alone for the first time

Macro milestones:

• Signing the lease and moving into a first home
• Communicating needs clearly at a GP appointment with a speech aid
• Receiving the first pay slip from a job they chose and love
• Joining a weekly community group, entirely by choice, with full confidence

Who You Are

• A natural communicator who is warm, clear, and engaging
• Energised by people and genuinely curious about their passions and goals
• Organised and adaptable — you plan ahead but can pivot in the moment
• Open to mentorship from Senior Support Workers and guidance from allied health professionals

Must Haves

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
• First Aid & CPR
• Driver's licence + reliable vehicle
• COVID-19 vaccination compliance
• WWCC (if applicable)

Bonus Points

• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services
• Experience in disability, aged care, or community support
