About the role

As part of the Anatomical Pathology Directorate, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality surgical pathology and cytology services that support excellent patient care. This role is integral to ensuring accurate, timely and cost-effective diagnostic services, working within a dedicated and professional team committed to achieving the best outcomes for patients and clinicians alike.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will play a key role in supporting medical education through teaching, in-service training, patient review and ongoing study. This is a rewarding opportunity to not only apply your expertise but also to share your knowledge, inspire the next generation of medical professionals and contribute to continuous improvement within the service.

About You

You are a highly skilled and motivated Medical Practitioner with specialist expertise in Anatomical Pathology. With extensive experience in surgical pathology and cytology, you bring a collaborative approach, strong clinical judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

  • MBBS or equivalent with appropriate Specialist qualifications, registerable with AHPRA
  • High-level competency in surgical pathology and cytology, meeting turnaround and quality standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong knowledge of anatomical pathology, computerised reporting systems, current trends, and occupational health and safety requirements
