The location and Lifestyle:

Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy.  For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the area.

About the Role:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Truck Operators to join our team, our fleet involves, but is not limited to:

• Excavators: CAT 395 90T, Hitachi 36/50T, Kobelco 50T and Volvo 38T
• Dozer: Komatsu 375, CAT D8T/D6R
• Grader: CAT 14M/H
• Articulated dump trucks: Volvo 60T & 45T, Bells 50T & CAT 45T

The positions require certain physical demands and exposure to challenging environments that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, work at heights and other exertions associated with manual roles as well as a strong commitment to safety while working in an operational mine site environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a range of equipment including Front End Loaders, Dozers, Excavators and Articulated Dump Trucks
• Carry out pre-start checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment
• Adhere to all relevant safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Follow and apply EQ Resources Company values

Key Selection Criteria:

• Experience operating machinery outlined above
• Safety focused with a high attention to detail
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the Company
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
• Highly organized with strong time management and communications skills to manage competing and/or changing priorities
• A can-do attitude and team player
• Drivers License - C Class (Essential)
• Queensland Heavy Rigid (HR) (Essential)

Additional Requirements for Working at Mt Carbine Mine:

• The ability to pass a pre-employment medical
• Australian Criminal History Check
• Required to live within 100kms of Mt Carbine Mine.  This position is DIDO.
