Painter / Scenic Assistant

Location: Ballarat

Employment Type: Casual

We're looking for a hands-on, reliable person with a basic understanding of painting and a willingness to learn to join our creative production team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, has a good eye for detail, and wants to develop their skills in scenic and commercial finishing.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with surface prep, sanding, priming, and painting a range of materials.
  • Learn scenic techniques such as colour washing, texturing, and detailing.
  • Support senior painters and production staff on various creative builds.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a tidy workspace.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures on all projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • All painting experience or knowledge are welcome.  (e.g. from trade, art, or hands-on projects).
  • Keen eye for detail and willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and working in a workshop environment.
  • Team player who takes pride in their work.

Bonus Skills (Not Essential):

  • Spray painting or scenic painting experience.
  • Forklift or EWP licence.
  • Interest in theatre, events, or creative fabrication.
