ASAP start date

A leading national organisation within the critical infrastructure and telecommunications space is seeking multiple Senior Technical Security Assurance Specialists. These newly created roles sit within a Line 2 assurance function, focusing on technical assurance and control validation rather than consulting or advisory work.

About the Opportunity

You'll be part of a specialised team responsible for performing independent technical assurance across cybersecurity controls, with a focus on the Essential Eight, PSPF, and NIST frameworks. The engagement aims to strengthen and mature the organisation's security assurance capability, providing valuable insights into control effectiveness across complex IT and OT environments.

This is a hands-on assurance role, where you'll assess configurations, analyse data sets and board metrics, and validate control implementations. You'll work alongside internal teams and external consultants who provide guidance — your focus will be on assessing, challenging, and verifying control effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent assurance activities across the Essential 8, PSPF, and NIST frameworks.
  • Review and validate technical control configurations and evidence.
  • Analyse data sets and security metrics to assess control performance.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based insights to inform cyber resilience and reporting.
  • Support the development and maturity of the organisation's assurance processes.

About You

You're a technically minded assurance or audit professional with experience evaluating control environments within complex, large-scale organisations. You bring:

  • Strong understanding of the Essential Eight mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in IT audit, risk management, or technical security assurance.
  • Ability to interpret and verify technical configurations (e.g. networks, endpoints, cloud, OT).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as IRAP, CISA, CISSP, or CRISC (highly regarded).
  • Background in telecommunications, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments (preferred).

Email: to discuss the opporutnity further.
