An opportunity has become available for a Lifesaving Officer to join the Lifesaving Team within the Public Safety Portfolio at Surf Life Saving NSW.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high performing and iconic Australian NFP organisation to support the delivery of high-quality lifesaving services and coastal safety by supporting frontline operations, research, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role combines operational support with research and analysis to enhance water safety and drowning prevention across NSW.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Assist in the coordination and provision of lifesaving services, programs, and resources.
  • Maintain and update operational documents, manuals, and online collateral.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and administer projects aligned with the strategic plan
  • Contribute to the development and trial of new equipment, resources and safety initiatives
  • Assist with administration, coordination & provisions of lifesaving programs and resources
  • Represent the organisation at industry working group and forums as required
  • Provide administrative support to the Lifesaving Manager and relevant committees
  • Support with the movement and logistics of lifesaving assets across the state
  • Assist with the preparation of reports
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as directed

Essential skills required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and relevant online platforms and tools.
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant online platforms and tools
  • Proven ability to work autonomously yet successfully contribute to a cohesive team environment
  • Demonstrated time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible attitude to work, including some evening and weekend work
  • Current driver's License

Location:Belrose

Position: Part Time (30 hours per week), 19mth Contract
