St Philomena School is a single stream P-12 independent Catholic School in Park Ridge, Queensland. St Philomena School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Health & Physical Education (HPE) Teacher to join our Day School faculty in 2026. This is a full-time position teaching Prep to Year 12 HPE and includes the additional responsibility of serving as the School Sports Coordinator.
About the Role
The successful applicant will:
- Teach HPE across all year levels (Prep–Year 12) in alignment with the Australian National Curriculum.
- Coordinate the school sports program, including interschool sports, training schedules, carnivals, and other co-curricular sporting activities.
- Promote physical education, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy living across the school community.
- Work collaboratively with staff to integrate HPE within the broader framework of a Classical Catholic education.
- Support the intellectual, spiritual, and physical formation of students in harmony with the school's mission.
Essential Criteria
- Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
- Demonstrated experience in teaching HPE across multiple year levels.
- Familiarity with the Australian National Curriculum (HPE).
- Strong organisational and leadership skills to coordinate sports programs and events.
- An understanding of and commitment to Classical Catholic pedagogy.
- A willingness to support and promote the Traditional Catholic ethos of St Philomena School.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Desirable Criteria
· Experience in the role of Sports Coordinator or equivalent leadership in school sporting programs.
· Knowledge of or interest in the Liberal Arts tradition.
· A practicing Catholic who actively supports the mission and vision of the school.
· Experience teaching in a Classical Education setting.
