About the role
This position is responsible for assisting in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of a wide range of signage for Council and public assets, while undertaking all prescribed training and actively participating in learning opportunities to develop the necessary skills for the trade.
On a daily basis you will:
- Support qualified Sign Writers in creating, installing, and maintaining signage across Council assets.
- Learn and apply sign craft techniques, including computer-aided design and safe tool use.
- Assist with machinery maintenance, safety checks, and site preparation.
- Complete required documentation and contribute to safe work practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement and comply with Council policies and WHS obligations.
- Maintain satisfactory progress in your apprenticeship studies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and personal development, as well as the ability to work safely and collaboratively in a team environment.
You will also bring:
- Completion of Year 10 (ROSA certificate/transcript) or higher, and
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- A current or eligible Class C Driver's Licence (P1); MR/HR Licence desirable but not required.
- Interest in art, design, and hands-on work; no prior experience required.
- Willingness to learn, good communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical capacity for field work and a commitment to safety.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to keep accurate records.

This is a Term Contract Opportunity
This role will be at Council's Operations Centre based at Rydalmere, with free onsite parking available.
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $54,286 to $59,378 plus 12% superannuation.
