About the role
- Lead the design, review, and optimization of slurry systems, tailings pipelines, pumping systems, and related mechanical infrastructure.
- Act as the subject matter expert on slurry transport and tailings processes within project teams.
- Deliver complex sustaining capital projects by leading engineering teams effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met and align with organizational goals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all engineering activities.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimize mechanical infrastructure and improve project efficiency.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in slurry and tailings systems.
About the candidate
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, with Chartered status highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in slurry and tailings systems design within mining projects.
- Strong background in pumping, piping, and process plant layouts for slurry transport.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex sustaining capital projects.
- Experience in leading the design, review, and optimisation of slurry systems, tailings pipelines, pumping systems, and related mechanical infrastructure.
- Acts as the subject matter expert on slurry transport and tailings processes within project teams.
- Effective team leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide engineering teams.
- Complex problem-solving abilities to tackle challenging engineering issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Project management expertise to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Willingness to relocate to Perth or have plans to relocate, if based in the East.
