The big picture:
In this diverse and busy role you will be testing and sampling petrochemical and other products as part of our friendly and competent team in Banksmeadow, Sydney. This role may require working on evenings and weekends.
Specific responsibilities:
- Undertake training in all required test methods.
- Inspect all submitted samples for compliance procedures before accepting samples, e.g. sample labelling, suitable sample containers etc.
- Laboratory testing of petroleum, environmental, water and other products.
- Sample logging into LIMS or equivalent sample management system.
- Follow, without deviation, all test methods, work instructions and procedures.
- Testing worksheets to be completed in full and all raw data recorded in accordance with QC/QA protocols.
- Ensure all records are accurate and complete.
- Follow through with incomplete samples and customer requests.
- Testing data entry into LIMS or equivalent sample management system.
- Ensure that all customer deadlines or turnaround times are met.
- Perform Calibration and Preventative Maintenance of instruments / equipment, where instructed.
- Commission and validate instruments, where required.
- Monitor performance of instruments following Quality Control procedures.
- Develop procedures and work instructions, where required.
- Where required, prepare corrective and preventative action reports, via the Management Review Form (MRF) for all matters related to QA/QC and safety.
- Attend all safety and quality meetings.
Essential Requirements:
- Diploma in Science or Chemistry or Laboratory Technician certificate
- A current Australian Drivers License
- Evidence of the right to live and work in Australia
Required Skills:
- Typically, 3 years' experience in petroleum, oil and/or chemical industries.
- Strong attention to detail
- Dedicated to safety
- Strong team player with positive attitude
- Good housekeeping
- Excellent communication – written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge and comprehension of standard published methods ASTM, IP, ISO and APHA test methods.
Salary Range:
A$80,000 - A$91,000 per annum
