Role Overview
This is a full-time, ongoing hybrid role for Software Engineers in Collingwood, VIC. Multiple positions are available, offering flexibility for remote collaboration alongside periodic on-site sessions. Engineers will work with our team to develop, enhance, and deploy drone-related software solutions, with a strong emphasis on practical applications in AWS cloud services, geospatial data processing, and hardware integration. Responsibilities will involve leading and supporting coding, testing, and implementation tasks, with opportunities to engage in diverse projects aligned with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contributions to software projects, such as developing models for geospatial analysis, optimizing cloud-based pipelines for drone telemetry and hardware integration, or implementing protocols for secure, IoT-enabled networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into our aerial intelligence platform, focusing on real-world applications in geospatial mapping and hardware-software synchronization.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and documentation to ensure high-quality, scalable deliverables.
- Explore and implement emerging technologies in AWS services, geospatial tools, and hardware integration to advance drone ecosystem capabilities.
- Present project outcomes to stakeholders to demonstrate impact on client challenges in aerial technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational to intermediate knowledge in relevant technologies, including programming for geospatial applications, AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda), and security principles for integrated systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java, with experience in version control (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated interest in software engineering within drone or similar environments.
- Excellent communication abilities for effective team collaboration in a hybrid setting.
- Prior professional or project experience (e.g., in engineering roles, academic research, or personal initiatives) is required; relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner) are advantageous.
