Technician Level 1

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Technician to support maintenance operations at Callide Power Station. This role focuses on Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power generation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control equipment
• Support daily generation requirements by ensuring plant systems operate reliably and safely
• Respond to breakdowns and operational contingencies as they arise
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and other departments
• Ensure all work is completed to required safety and compliance standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices and outcomes
• Take initiative and show flexibility in adapting to changing work priorities
• Actively participate in team meetings, planning, and other maintenance activities

This is permanent, full time position at Callide Power Station.

ABOUT YOU

Our preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• A current Queensland Electrical Work License as an Electrical Fitter / Mechanic is mandatory
• Possession of a Dual Trade in Instrumentation or an Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Planned and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment (preferably in a heavy industry or power generation environment)
• Programmable logic controllers, instrumentation and DCS controls
• Experience with electrical work within zoned hazardous areas

• High Voltage Switching experience – preparing, checking and executing switching and plant isolation programs
