Position Overview:
 The Casual Production Assistant supports Secure Bits' manufacturing and production activities. This role provides hands-on assistance in various areas, with a strong focus on
electronics assembly tasks such as cable preparation, wiring, and harness assembly
. Additional duties include quality control, packaging, warehouse operations, and general workshop support. Working across multiple production teams, work will be allocated based on operational requirements, and activities may vary depending on production demand. Our products are built through a combination of cable/electronics assembly and mechanical processes, meaning attention to detail and consistency are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Assembly Support:

  • Assist with manufacturing, assembly, and packaging of products and components.
  • Operate basic tools and equipment under supervision.
  • Support the preparation of materials and parts for production tasks.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Conduct basic quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents.
  • Maintain compliance with Secure Bits' manufacturing and WHS policies.

Warehouse & Inventory Assistance:

  • Assist with stock handling, packing, and inventory management.
  • Load and unload materials as required.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organised.

General Workshop Support:

  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping within the workshop.
  • Assist production teams with ad hoc tasks and special projects.
  • Support logistics and material movement as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a production/workshop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Physically capable of manual handling and repetitive tasks.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing tasks.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or warehouse environments.
  • Basic understanding of workshop tools, machinery, or assembly processes.
  • Forklift licence or other relevant industry certifications (if applicable).
