Position Type: Ongoing

Hours: 48 hours per fortnight

Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, ideally Monday - Wednesday

Classification: Grade 2 Speech Pathologist, as per the Allied Health Professionals EBA, $56,990 – $65,510 per annum dependent on experience

Are you an experienced Speech Pathologist looking to make a meaningful difference in patient care?

Mildura Base Public Hospital is seeking a dedicated and motivated Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic Allied Health team.

This role will be responsible for providing high-quality services across both acute and sub-acute settings, with a focus on outpatient services and, where necessary, inpatient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech pathology assessments and interventions for outpatient and inpatient clients.
  • Assist in the supervision and direction of Grade 1 Speech Pathologists, students, and allied health assistants.
  • Contribute to service development and delivery in line with organisational goals.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with staff and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Lead clinical roles for designated case types, ensuring evidence-based practices and quality patient care.
  • Participate in clinical and non-clinical duties, including service planning, communication, and professional development.

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • A Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • Proven experience and clinical competence as a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist.

Desirable:

  • Flexibility and adaptability in both autonomous and team-based environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative and creativity in the provision of speech pathology services.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and meeting deadlines.
