The Position
The Recreation Officer is responsible for planning and implementing a range of recreation activities for students of all year levels in the Boarding House. Experience in similar roles is desirable, but not essential. The role begins in late January 2026.
This role is part time role (20 hours per week) during school terms and requires flexibility in working across weekends whilst coordinating leisure activities for boarding students.
The role will be responsible for-
- Planning and implementing a range of recreational activities for students of all year levels;
- Planning activities which cater for the cultural and social diversity of boarding students as well as varying financial circumstances;
- Promoting student leadership within the Boarding House as an explicit part of the Recreation program;
- Running an orientation to Brisbane recreation program for new students at the beginning of each year;
- Liaising with other Boarding Schools to plan joint recreation activities as appropriate.
All our staff are expected to support the ethos of the school as expressed in the Goals of Sacred Heart Education.
