About the role
Advanta Seeds Pty Ltd (trading as Pacific Seeds) is seeking a full-time Agricultural Research Scientist (commercial title: Senior Plant Breeder – Sorghum) to join our R&D team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to world-class breeding programs with a global leader in agricultural innovation. Candidates will hold a Master Degree level qualification in Science/Agricultural Science, Plant Breeding, Genetics or a related field. Candidates will also hold at least 1 plus years of relevant experience.
Key capabilities include but are not limited to:
- Experience in large-scale breeding programs (in sorghum, or wheat or breeding of other hybrid broadacre seed crops or other related crops).
- Demonstrated Technical expertise with proven ability in field and laboratory observations.
- Good understanding of biometrics and Mendelian genetics.
- Working knowledge of plant biotechnologies.
- Results-driven, with a focus on achieving targets and delivering outcomes.
- Proven ability to work autonomously.
