Deli Assistant

About the role

Doonside Fresh' is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Deli Assistant to join our team at our St Clair, NSW store. This is a casual role, providing you the flexibility to balance work with other commitments. As a Deli Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have a positive experience when shopping with us.

What you'll be doing

• Providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and answering any questions they may have
• Preparing and presenting a variety of deli items such as meats, cheeses, and fresh salads in an appealing manner
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the deli counter and surrounding areas
• Restocking deli items and ensuring the counter is well-stocked and visually appealing
• Adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
• Food safety training will be provided to successful candidates
• Collaborating with the wider retail team to provide a seamless shopping experience for our customers

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a customer service or retail role, preferably within a deli or food service environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and team members
• A friendly, approachable, and helpful demeanour
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• A passion for food and a desire to provide a great customer experience
• Australian work rights are required for this position
• Minimum age requirement of 15 years applies
