Role Overview:

The Senior Security Operations & Engineering role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of security technologies and processes that protect the organization's infrastructure, applications, and data. This role plays a critical part in incident response, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure software delivery, while also contributing to strategic security initiatives and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Operations & Engineering

  • Provide expert consultation and technical support for security incidents and investigations.
  • Design, implement, and manage security tools and secure CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across platforms.
  • Perform threat modeling and design reviews for new technologies and features.
  • Analyze and improve the organization's security posture through continuous monitoring.
  • Conduct risk assessments of cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and internal architecture practices.

Security Governance & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain corporate security policies aligned with IT strategy.
  • Coordinate external security reviews and penetration testing with vendors.
  • Identify and mitigate emerging IT security threats and risks.

Knowledge Contribution & Mentorship

  • Coach and mentor team members in security practices and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and SOPs for security systems.
  • Support organization-wide IT security awareness training.
  • Enable operational teams to improve risk analysis and threat mitigation.

Project Coordination & Support

  • Provide security input throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage assigned security-related projects in line with governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners for secure delivery.

Technical Competency

  • Define security requirements for new applications and software products.
  • Implement security controls and technologies based on business needs.

Culture, Safety & Development

  • Promote company values and maintain compliance with OH&S policies.
  • Participate in relevant security conferences and training to stay current with emerging technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in security operations, engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), DevSecOps, and threat modeling.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management tools, and secure coding practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) preferred.

  • Security posture improvement metrics.
  • Compliance with internal and external security standards.
  • Quality and timeliness of project support and documentation.
  • Team mentorship and knowledge sharing contributions.
