Wanslea is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to fill the role of Coordinator, Grandcare Program — someone who is passionate about supporting grandcarers and committed to delivering high quality, culturally responsive, family centred care.

About you

You are an experienced and compassionate leader with a strong background in social work or allied mental health, who is motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of grandcarers and the children in their care.

You bring:


• A degree in Social Work (or a recognised equivalent) or relevant allied mental health qualification — and eligibility for membership in the Australian Association of Social Workers (or relevant professional body).


• Proven experience supervising a team, including mentoring, coaching and performance management.


• Strong skills in high level report writing, with attention to detail, clarity and an ability to translate data into insights.


• A solid understanding of workplace health & safety obligations, and a commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful working environment.

You excel at:


• Working both collaboratively and as a leader within multi disciplinary teams.


• Communicating clearly, with empathy, strong interpersonal + problem solving skills; able to engage with diverse stakeholders with sensitivity and professionalism.


• Managing administrative tasks with efficiency, including sound computer literacy across Windows based software and systems.


• Fostering a positive team culture: you lead with integrity, respect, and a solution oriented mindset.

If you also bring knowledge or experience in these, that will help you hit the ground running:


• Child protection / family safety frameworks.


• Representing organisations in sector forums or liaising with agencies and community organisations.


• Delivering group based services or group facilitation.


• Deep experience working with vulnerable grandcarer families, and an understanding of trauma, grief & loss, family functioning, and child development
