Position Summary:

Currently we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Draftsperson
with a minimum of 5 years' experience in residential drafting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in producing accurate and high-quality working drawings, managing variations efficiently, and contributing to a smooth pre-construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare comprehensive working drawings for residential homes, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, developer guidelines, and local council regulations.
• Amend and update plans based on client variations, builder feedback, and site-specific requirements.
• Interpret and translate design briefs, sketches, and preliminary concepts into accurate technical documentation.
• Liaise with internal teams including sales, estimating, construction, and design to ensure plans are aligned with project requirements and timelines.
• Ensure a high level of attention to detail and accuracy across all drawings, documents, and file management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BCA (Building Code of Australia), local council policies, and industry standards.
• Assist in resolving technical queries from construction teams and external consultants.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Review and incorporate engineering plans, energy assessments, and other consultant documentation into the final plans.
• Support the Design Manager or Senior Draftsperson in refining processes and improving documentation templates and efficiency.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years of drafting experience with a residential
  project
  builder is essential.
• Strong proficiency in ArchiCAD (or relevant drafting software used by the business).
• Sound understanding of construction methodologies, residential building codes, and regulations specific to Western Australia.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Proven ability to manage variations and client amendments effectively.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit drafting team.
• Relevant qualification in Building Design, Architectural Drafting, or equivalent.
