IT Manager - Level 3 IT Infrastructure Engineer

The Opportunity

We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to oversee all aspects of Information and Communications Technology at the College. The role of the IT Manager requires a strong focus toward service delivery, as well as effective technical skills.

This is a permanent full-time position.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting system, network, and security issues
  • Demonstrated capability in project management, problem analysis, and root cause identification.
  • Experience handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Sound knowledge of network and information system security best practices to ensure a secure IT environment.

Position Responsibilities:

User and Group Management:

Manage Active Directory

Google Workspace

Office365 administration (Teams, Exchange Online, Azure Active Directory, Compliance, Security, SharePoint, Intune for Education)

Windows Server Management:

DNS

DHCP

File server

Print server

RADIUS

Certificate Server

Security and Endpoint protection:

Implementing network security policies

Identifying threats and working on steps to defend against them

Upgrade agent on regular interval

Huntress Experience

Email security

In-depth knowledge of email security (DKIM, SPF, DMARC).

Firewall/Wireless/Campus networking:

In-depth knowledge of IP addressing, VLAN, Enterprise switch configuration & management, routing, Firewall rules and Wireless AP management

Vmware/Hypervisors:

Maintain ESXI hosts and vCenter, deploy VMs and raise support request with vendors if required.

Comprehensive understanding of hypervisors and concepts.

Migration and eventual replacement of ESXi.

Backups:

Manage DR, Backup and restore as per requirement

Telephony:

Working knowledge of VoIP telephony system and work with service provider

VoIP system implementation.

Helpdesk:

Respond to and resolve help desk requests.

Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.

Helpdesk implementation and familiarity.

Problem solving:

Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, application, networking and system issues when they arise.
