Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model
- 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
- 2 days from an RACP office location per week,
- 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.
Job Description
The Overseas Trained Physicians (OTP) Team manages the assessment of specialist international medical graduates (SIMGs) who are applying for specialist registration to work in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The team provides administrative and policy support to the College Committees responsible for undertaking the assessments and also manages applications from international medical graduates who are seeking short-term specialist training positions in Australia. The team deals with highly confidential and sensitive issues and materials.
The primary purpose of the role is to facilitate the effective case management of short-term specialist training applications, administration and continuous improvement of procedures and processes to support specialist assessment of SIMGs and consistency of approach to assessment and decision making.
Duties Include
- Administratively support the case management of short-term training applications
- Provide timely and clear advice on compliance with relevant policy, procedure and processes for the short-term training pathway
- Effectively and professionally communicate with employers, regulators and OTP Committee members
- Work with the OTP Senior Executive Officer and Executive Officer on complex cases and approvals
- Facilitate and progress data collection/management and reporting including updating databases and spreadsheets with information on applicants, to ensure transparency of the team's operations and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Contribute to team projects and initiatives as needed
- Assist with case management of the OTP specialist assessment pathway when needed.
Desired Skills And Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in education or a related field
- Demonstrated capacity to quickly understand and operate in a complex environment
- Commitment to delivering high quality outcomes
- Capability to take initiative and implement process change
- Ability to provide robust advice to senior internal and external stakeholders based on information gathering, analysis and sound reasoning skills
- Assessment of applications in regulatory or rules- based assessment setting
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to represent the OTP Team at meetings and in communications as required and appropriate
- Understanding of the role of the Medical Board of Australia in regulating health professionals
