About the role:
As a key member of Origin's Energy, Supply & Operations (ES&O) DevOps team, this role is responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing applications and integration solutions across front-end, back-end, and cloud environments.
The Senior Developer partners with business stakeholders and service providers to design robust solutions that enable operational excellence and cloud transformation.
This role also drives continuous improvement in development standards, automation, and best practices to support Origin's "Cloud First" strategy and evolving energy transition initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor within ES&O, guiding stakeholders toward effective cloud and integration solutions.
- Design, deliver, and maintain secure, scalable cloud-based applications, data integrations, and processing solutions.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of cloud technical projects, including design, cost analysis, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Partner with business and technology teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance operational performance and analytics.
- Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of automation tools, development practices, and cloud engineering frameworks.
- Provide advanced technical support, mentoring, and thought leadership across platforms, ensuring reliability and performance optimisation.
- Build and foster a strong community of practice to share knowledge, improve standards, and shape the evolution of ES&O's technology landscape.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience in designing and delivering cloud-based application and data integration solutions (preferably on Azure or AWS).
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g. .NET, Python, JavaScript, REST APIs).
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Experience managing end-to-end technical project delivery, including design, cost estimation, and operational support.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical decisions.
- Leadership capabilities in mentoring peers, promoting best practices, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
