SBS and Mechanical are currently seeking applications for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanics to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in maintaining and servicing heavy mobile mining equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.

Roster: 2:2 roster FIFO from Perth, WA

Location: Pilbara WA Region

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine servicing, lubrication, and inspections on heavy mobile mining equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, and hydraulics.
  • Apply OEM maintenance practices to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems as required.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring all work is documented accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workshop environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Liaise with supervisors and management to prioritize maintenance tasks.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in the mining industry working on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent).
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to interpret OEM manuals and technical schematics.
  • Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Air Conditioning Ticket (advantageous).
  • National Police Clearance (dated within last 6 months).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
