This full-time role of Alcohol & Other Drugs Senior Practitioner provides practice and program leadership to the AOD Program, while managing a caseload of clients with highly complex needs. The AOD Senior Practitioner will support AOD specific training and case consultation to staff across BYS
You'll be a great candidate for this role if you have:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences, or comparable qualification OR substantial demonstrated experience in a related field.
- A high level of understanding of young people's alcohol and other drug use and trends and demonstrated ability to implement evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions
- Experience managing a complex caseload and engaging young people through positive relationships to provide needs assessment, information, advice, brief and crisis intervention, individually negotiated support planning, and advocacy to reduce the harm associated with alcohol and other drug use.
- The ability to draw upon specialist AOD knowledge to engage in and/or lead multidisciplinary case consultations for BYS employee's to provide a high quality of support to young people
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs including the collection and reporting of client data as required, and appropriate use of allocated funding within budget
- Demonstrated experience developing networks and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government and community service providers
Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You'll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:
- Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
- National Police Check clearance.
- Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases – Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; and Hepatitis B.
