Feedlot Hand

Bottlejac Trading - Mirambee Feedlot is seeking a full-time Feedlot Hand. The successful applicant will have a keen interest and experience with cattle to assist with:

• Inductions
• Drafting
• Entry / exiting cattle
• Animal health - daily pen checks (pen riding or on foot), trough cleaning, diagnosis and administering treatment protocols
• Mixing & delivery of feed with tractor and mixer
• Accurately recording cattle movements and feed delivery on StockAID Elynx software (on-job training provided)
• Paddock mustering
• Pen cleaning

Mirambee Feedlot is a family owned 3,000hd NFAS Accredited Feedlot & backgrounding operation situated 10km from Dubbo NSW,forming part of our broader operations. Our vision is to be a sustainable beef production system producing beef for domestic and export markets. We value and respect our people, animals and safety.

We will provide

• On the job training in most areas of feedlot operations
• Formal training from external training providers
• Some flexibility with hours/roster
• Uniform
• Shared local accommodation at competitive rates (subject to availability)

Our ideal candidate

• Experience handling cattle and passionate about animal welfare
• A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, attention to details
• Operate well in a small, fast-paced team environment
• General computer skills
• 10 on, 4 off roster (approx 80hrs over 10 days)
