Our Venues:

Our venues Ormond House, Luminaire, Glasshouse and State Library Victoria provide stunning event spaces for corporate dinners, conferences, cocktail parties, private occasions, weddings, milestone celebrations, and everything in-between. In addition to our venues we also have a Production Kitchen in North Melbourne to support the volume of events within our venues.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic, and passionate Experienced Chefs to join our dynamic event team. Anyone applying must be available for the below dates.  

  • Australian Open (5th Jan - 1st Feb 2026)

We also have a variety of exciting shifts to offer at some of Melbourne's most prestigious events during the summer season, with the potential for growth within the company for the right candidates. We pride ourselves on nurturing a great culture within our teams, the below is what we need in you to keep this culture alive.

Main Duties:

  • Follow the Plans and Flow set out by our Executive Chef, Head Chef and Chef supervisors.
  • Prepare menu items according to recipes.
  • Assist with setting up and packing down kitchens for events.
  • Understand dietary requirements and ensure guests are served appropriate meals.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations and a high level of guest satisfaction.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in the Hospitality Industry is a must, preferably restaurants and events.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking and preparing proteins to perfection at Volume within time constraints.
  • Attitude to take instruction and work harmoniously within close knit teams.
  • Attitude to take on any task required to Deliver to The Big Group standard and be a team player until the kitchen is cleaned and all staff are ready to go.
