Position: Green Mill Operator (Permanent Full-Time)

Location: Smithton, Tasmania

Britton Timbers is one of Australia's leading and longest-running timber companies, we are looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join our Green Mill team at our Smithton site.

About the Role

These full-time positions offer the opportunity to develop your skills and build a long-term career in the timber industry. Starting in the Green Mill section, successful applicants will be trained in various aspects of sawmill operations, with the goal of progressing to machine operation and production roles.

What You'll Do

  • Work as part of a team in the Green Mill section processing timber
  • Assist with general mill operations and timber handling
  • Learn to operate sawmill machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment

What We're Looking For

  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in timber, manufacturing, or production is an advantage but not essential — full training provided
  • Must be able to pass a standard pre-employment medical
  • Commencement date 14th January 2026
