IT Trainer – Melbourne
UIA, located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, is currently seeking an experienced IT Trainer/Assessor to join our team and deliver training and assessment to our IT students.
About the Role:
The IT Trainer will be responsible for delivering and assessing the ICT50220 – Diploma of Information Technology and/or ICT Advanced Diploma of Information Technology. The position involves providing high-quality, engaging training and supporting students to successfully achieve their learning goals while maintaining compliance with UIA and relevant regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and assess in line with the approved curriculum.
- Facilitate engaging, structured, and relevant training sessions.
- Assist all learners, regardless of skill level, to achieve their training outcomes.
- Use teaching and assessment strategies that are fair, valid, current, and sufficient.
- Provide one-on-one tuition, conduct regular learner progress checks, and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records and submit them to the RTO for SMS entry.
- Monitor student activity and provide academic support for satisfactory progress.
- Contribute to course development in a team environment, fostering continuous improvement and best practice.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training delivery and assessment.
What We're Looking For:
- Diploma-level qualification in IT or higher-level qualification.
- Specialisation in Telecommunications Network Engineering preferred.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in vocational education and training preferred.
- Significant industry experience in IT (highly regarded).
- Basic computer literacy with the ability to learn new software/programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software platforms.
- Experience with Axcelerate (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Professional, approachable manner with excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa with appropriate work rights.
